Our ingredients are always 100% whole-food, plant based, non-allergen. There are no opportunities for animal products in any of our ingredients.
Submitting our products for vegan certification would increase our prices and we always strive to give our customers the most accessible pricing.
Yes. One criteria for choosing our ingredients is that they don't have a GMO-source seed currently, or in known R & D.
In the case of the one ingredient used that could have a GMO source, yellow corn flour - we take the Non-GMO associations advice and ensure non-GMO sourcing by buying USDA Certificated Organic.
We go a step further using known source and stone ground Wapsie Valley Heritage Yellow Corn that is USDA Certificated Organic.
Not entirely. We prefer knowing where and who the food comes from, especially the primary proteins, and how they are grown.
These practices minimize environmental footprint and optimize freshness, nutrition and local buying over exclusively choosing USDA Certified Organic ingredients.
Ingredients that come from larger crops that have a propensity to hold onto pesticides, like yellow corn or oats, we always buy USDA Certified Organic.
NexVeg products are free of gluten but not certified gluten-free. We have gone through testing and always registered under 40 parts per million (0.0004%).
NexVeg offers the only truly 100% whole food plant based (wfpb) non-allergen proteins, we know of.
NexVeg is as easy to use and versatile enough to make the healthiest comfort foods you can dream up.
Our hemp products are more nutritionally dense and offer more protein and fiber than any other ready-to-cook whole food plant-based patty.
NexVeg bean based products are possibly the most locally sourced plant proteins being offered from anywhere, on a national scale.

Personal experiences matter, and so does solid health and sustainability science:
Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health reports Not All Plant-based Diets are Healthy - Researchers followed 200,000 adults over two decades and found that those who adhered to a plant-based diet rich in healthy foods, such as whole grains, fruits, vegetables, nuts, and legumes, had a substantially lower risk of heart disease than people whose diet typically included less healthy foods like refined grains and sugar...
Ultra-Processed Diets Cause Excess Calorie Intake and Weight Gain - Even when the meal choices are matched in nutrients like carbs, protein, fat, and sugar.
The Power of Plants - "The main advantages of a whole plant-based diet seems to be more related to the foods you’re eating lots of (vegetables, fruits, whole grains, beans, nuts) rather than those you’re eating less of (processed carbs and refined fats)."
Eating a plant-based diet is not just good for our health; it is good for Earth’s health. In fact, “Shifting away from animal-based foods adds up to 49% to the global food supply, without expanding croplands; and would also significantly reduce carbon emissions and waste byproducts (Jalava et al, 2014)." To you $0.00. We will only show you food prices inclusive of shipping & handling.
We don't like being surprised with added shipping costs at the end of our shopping experience either...
Absolutely. We exclusively ship in recyclable and biodegradable packaging, including the utilization of dry-ice.
You will note that your patties come square, for so many reasons. The most important is thermal and packing efficiency for direct shipping.
Additionally, instead of having a dollar minimum, we will have an 8 pound minimum for environmental reasons. This allows us to be much more efficient and sustainable with our use of packaging.
Micro-batching, micro-processing and LEAN production principles all go hand in hand. The concept is - take the order, make the order and deliver it immediately. Don't waste time, money or energy making it too soon or making too much and storing it.
The result is made to order food offering optimal flavor, nutrition, and price.
